Shafiqur Rahman, leader of the opposition and ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, returned to Dhaka on Sunday after visiting Turkey and performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia.
He arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 9am.
Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer ATM Azharul Islam, Central Executive Council member and Dhaka South City Jamaat Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul and Dhaka North City Jamaat Ameer Md Selim Uddin welcomed him with bouquets.
Shafiqur left Dhaka on 7 October to attend the Second International Conference on Bangladesh Studies at Istanbul University in Turkey as the chief guest.
He delivered the keynote address at the conference on 9 October.
During his visit to Turkey, he also met Turkish Parliament Speaker Prof Numan Kurtulmus on 8 October.
