Kumar Biswajit has returned with a new song called ‘Meghla Diney’ that premiered on his YouTube channel at 5:30 pm on August 16. Written by Nidhan Ahmed and composed by Ahmed Humayun, the track is accompanied by a video directed by Chandan Roy Chowdhury that enhances the song’s atmosphere.
The singer admitted that since the channel is still new, he is not expecting a huge
response just yet. However, he is hopeful that the beauty of the lyrics, melody and visuals will resonate with listeners.
Why did an artist whose songs generations have grown up listening to come to YouTube so
late? His answer is simple: he is a man of creation, not of commerce. Business has never
influenced him. His aim has always been to keep his music alive in his own way.
Joy Shahriar had long urged him to create a platform, and at last, he agreed. Yet the first steps on this new platform have not been easy as he is facing copyright claims on his own songs.
With some frustration, he remarked how time-consuming it is to contest these claims daily.
His full return to music has yet to come since personal struggles continue to weigh heavily. “You can’t sing in such a state,” he said openly.
For fans, a handful of requested songs is a small consolation. He asks for time before he can regain his full creative flow.
Meanwhile, his son Nibir’s illness remains at the centre of his life. Though better than before, full recovery is still some way off, with new ongoing tests. The singer’s voice carries a deep conviction: his son is alive today because of the prayers of so many. His greatest wish now is for Nibir’s complete recovery.
During this difficult time his fellow music legend Sabina Yasmin has been by his side like a pillar. She has even visited Nibir in Canada. For Biswajit, this was no surprise but rather a natural reflection of the bond between artists. “It is natural for an artist to stand by another in difficult times,” he said.
Life, however, must go on. Biswajit has already left for Australia to perform at several concerts, where he will remain till September 7, before returning to Canada. By November, he plans to be in Dhaka to process his visa for an upcoming European tour. This busy schedule, even away from regular singing, offers some comfort to fans.
Yet their deepest wish remains unchanged: they want their beloved singer to return to music on a regular basis.
For now, Biswajit admits that it is not possible. But he believes that as soon as this waiting end, he will once again emerge into the world of music, where he has always lived in the hearts of his listeners.
