Karmasangsthan Bank organised a customer gathering and public hearing on Monday at the Shaheed Muktijoddha Jagatjyoti Public Library to engage with local entrepreneurs and stakeholders.
The event aimed to strengthen ties between the bank and its customers while addressing local development needs.
Former Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Karmasangsthan Bank Dr AFM Matiur Rahman, attended as the chief guest. Managing Director Arun Kumar Chowdhury and Sunamganj Deputy Commissioner Dr Mohammad Elias Mia were present as special guests. The programme was presided over by Md Amirul Islam, General Manager of the bank’s Audit Department.
Several senior bank officials also participated, including Deputy General Managers (Loan Recovery) Md Aktar Hossain Pradhan, Monoj Roy (Branch Control), Md Momtaz Uddin (Chattogram Divisional Office), and Board Secretary Md Iqbal Hossain.
Dr AFM Matiur Rahman described Sunamganj as a district rich in tradition and potential, pledging support for entrepreneurs involved in agriculture, fisheries, haor-based products, and tourism. He encouraged local business owners to seek financial assistance from Karmasangsthan Bank to promote self-reliance.
Arun Kumar Chowdhury reiterated the bank’s commitment to financing entrepreneurs and supporting underdeveloped areas, stressing the importance of providing appropriate credit to drive productive economic activities.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Mohammad Elias Mia highlighted the bank’s vital role in reducing unemployment through financial inclusion and pointed out promising sectors for investment, including leather, solar energy, and jewelry.
During the session, stakeholders and customers shared their feedback and suggestions, while bank officials offered guidance. Participants expressed satisfaction with the services provided by Karmasangsthan Bank.
