At least five people were injured when activists of Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student front of BNP, allegedly attacked a protest rally of Gono Odhikar Parishad in Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah on Friday night.

The rally was organised in protest against the assault on Gono Odhikar Parishad President and former DUCSU Vice President Nurul Haque Nur in Dhaka earlier the same evening.

Witnesses said the incident occurred around 9pm near Shailkupa Bridge after a group of 10 to 15 motorcycle-riding youths intercepted the procession, which had started from in front of the Pilot School.
