Barcelona continued their perfect start to the LaLiga season with a dominant 5-0 win over Valencia at Mestalla on Sunday.
Lamine Yamal scored twice as Barcelona made it three wins from three. Fermin Lopez, Raphinha and Pedri also found the net in a one sided contest.
Barcelona needed only six minutes to take the lead. Fermin found Yamal inside the box and the winger finished from a difficult angle on the right.
Yamal thought he had scored again two minutes later. However, VAR ruled out the goal for offside.
Barcelona remained in control and doubled their lead in the 22nd minute. Anthony Gordon set up Fermin, who placed a left footed finish into the bottom corner.
Valencia struggled to create clear chances. Arnaut Danjuma tested Joan Garcia twice in the 32nd minute, but the Barcelona goalkeeper kept him out.
The visitors continued to threaten before the break. Yamal and Fermin both forced saves from Stole Dimitrievski as Barcelona went into half time with a 2-0 lead.
Barcelona needed only five minutes after the restart to score their third. Fermin led a quick attack and supplied Raphinha, who finished from close range.
Rodri almost added another in the 56th minute when his header struck the crossbar.
Barcelona made several changes after the hour but continued to dominate.
Dani Olmo came on in the 75th minute and quickly made an impact. He set up Pedri four minutes later, with the midfielder finding the bottom corner to make it 4-0.
Olmo then provided another assist in the 84th minute. His through ball found Yamal, who finished into the bottom right corner. VAR reviewed the goal before confirming it.
Yamal had a chance to complete his hat trick in added time but sent his final effort high and wide.
Barcelona saw out the remaining minutes comfortably to complete a 5-0 victory and maintain their perfect start to the league campaign.
