Applications have been filed with the High Court’s Election Tribunal seeking to challenge the results and order a recount of votes in the Dhaka-6, Dhaka-7, and Gaibandha-4 constituencies of the thirteenth national parliamentary election.

The single bench of Justice Md Zakir Hossain accepted these applications on Thursday and set a date for hearing after the upcoming vacation period.

The candidates of Jamaat-e-Islami from those three constituencies filed these applications. Their lawyer, ASM Shahriar Kabir, told journalists that the court has directed that ballot papers, result sheets, and all related documents be taken into the court’s custody and kept separately.
