IPDC Finance PLC plans to enter Shariah-compliant financing after its board approved the launch of an Islamic finance window, marking the non-bank financial institution’s latest effort to diversify its product offerings.
The initiative remains subject to approval from the relevant regulatory authorities, the company said in a disclosure on Sunday.
Under the plan, IPDC Finance will offer Shariah-compliant financial services through a dedicated Islamic finance window while continuing its conventional financing operations alongside the new business.
The move comes as demand for Islamic financial products continues to grow in Bangladesh, prompting financial institutions to expand Shariah-compliant offerings without fully converting their existing operations.
IPDC Finance shares, with a face value of Tk10 each, rose 2.80 per cent to close at Tk33.10 on the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Sunday.
