Midland Bank PLC has recently converted its Banani Branch into a full-fledged Islami Banking Branch, expanding access to Shariah-compliant banking services for individual and corporate clients.
The branch is located at Nilufar Heights, B-52 (1st Floor), Kamal Ataturk Avenue, Banani, Dhaka.
Midland Bank MD Imtiaz U Ahmed inaugurated the Banani Islami Banking Branch, said a press release on Monday.
Shariah Supervisory Committee Chairman Muhammad Abu Sayeed Khan and members Abu Yousuf Md Nesar Uddin and Muhammad Shahjahan Madani attended the event.
Midland Bank Deputy MD and CRO Md Zahid Hossain and Deputy MD and CTO Md Nazmul Huda Sarkar attended, along with other senior officials of the bank.
The branch will provide Shariah-compliant deposit, investment and other modern banking services to individual and corporate clients. Midland Bank said its Islami Banking operations adhere to Shariah principles under the guidance of its Shariah Supervisory Committee and in compliance with Bangladesh Bank guidelines.
The bank said the conversion is intended to meet increasing demand for Shariah-based financial services in Banani and neighbouring areas.
