India successfully defended their Women’s Kabaddi World Cup title with a 35–28 win over Chinese Taipei in the final held at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Dhaka on Monday, 24 November 2025.

The reigning champions built on an early lead and maintained control in a fiercely contested encounter. India first won the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup in 2012 by defeating Iran and have now retained their crown, extending their perfect win record in the competition. They won all six matches in this edition, replicating their six wins from the 2012 campaign.

The two sides were meeting for the third consecutive time in a major international final. At the 2023 Asian Games, India secured a dramatic 26–25 win over Chinese Taipei in the gold medal match, following a 34–34 draw between the teams during the group stage of that tournament.

Ahead of kick-off in Dhaka, the toss coin was supplied by Md Mahbub-ul-Alam, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Chinese Taipei won the toss and sent India in to raid first. Sanju Devi opened the scoring for India with a successful raid, while Chuang Ya-han responded with a bonus point. Both Puja and Sonali secured points from their raids before Sanju regained the lead with a three-point effort.

Huang Su-chin scored to keep Chinese Taipei in contention, but another two-point raid from Sanju put India further ahead, leading to an all-out and a 17–14 advantage. India finished the first half 20–16 ahead.

Chinese Taipei reduced the gap after the break with a bonus, but Pushpa added three points through her raid to restore India’s momentum. Although Chinese Taipei narrowed the score to 25–22 through quick points from raids and tackles, India’s controlled approach, led by Sanju and Pushpa, kept the game in their favour.

Four minutes before time, Chinese Taipei attempted a comeback with a super tackle to make it 30–26. However, India responded by forcing another all-out in the closing stages and secured victory at 35–28.

Following the win, the Indian players celebrated with a victory lap across the arena, waving the national flag and dancing as they marked their second consecutive Women’s Kabaddi World Cup triumph.
