The solo painting exhibition “In Search of Peace” by artist Sadrul Rafi was inaugurated on Friday evening at Galerie Zoom of Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD), Dhanmondi in the capital.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition was joined by Ekushey Padak recipient and renowned visual artist Professor Shahjahan Ahmed Bikash as the special guest.
The exhibition showcases Rafi’s captivating collection of drawings and paintings that reflect his deep engagement with both classical and contemporary artistic traditions. His creations display strong influences from great European masters including Pablo Picasso, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Sandro Botticelli, Claude Monet, and Henry Moore, while also paying homage to celebrated Bangladeshi artists such as SM Sultan, Zainul Abedin, Shafiuddin Ahmed, and Shahabuddin Ahmed.

Rafi’s precise pencil work and meticulous detailing have shaped a distinctive visual language that transcends conventional artistic boundaries. For him, painting becomes a passage into an imaginative realm where belief, science, technology, and cosmology intertwine in expressive harmony.
His art encourages viewers to reflect on the balance between the inner and outer worlds, where imagination, emotion, and contemplation coexist.
“In Search of Peace” will remain open to all visitors until October 29, 2025, from Monday to Saturday, from 3 to 9 pm at AFD’s Galerie Zoom.
