Popular Bangladeshi singer, composer and music producer Ibrar Tipu is gradually recovering after battling a serious kidney illness for the past two years. The musician, whose recent Facebook Live appearance shocked many longtime colleagues because of his frail physical condition, is now showing signs of improvement, according to his wife, Bindu Kona, who spoke from the United States.
Bindu Kona said Tipu recently underwent several major surgeries, which have temporarily affected his ability to speak. She expressed hope that his condition would continue to improve. “Many people became worried after seeing Tipu. Please keep him in your prayers so that he recovers soon,” she said. “He has been ill for the past two years due to kidney complications. After this long journey, he is now getting better. We did not want to make the matter public. However, after Tipu appeared on Facebook Live, many people had questions. That is why we decided to clarify the situation. Please pray that he returns to everyone as the Ibrar Tipu they know.”
The past 24 months have been one of the most difficult periods of Tipu’s life. The musician, known for spending countless hours creating music in the studio, struggled with severe physical exhaustion because of his kidney condition. Although the illness weakened him physically, it never diminished his passion for music.
News of his illness caused deep concern across Bangladesh’s music industry and among his fans. According to Bindu Kona, continuous medical supervision and a structured treatment plan have gradually brought positive changes to his health. She said his kidney function is now significantly better and more stable than before.
During his lengthy treatment, Tipu had to follow strict medical guidelines, including regular diabetes management, a balanced diet and a disciplined lifestyle. His family and well-wishers stood by him throughout the difficult period, offering constant support and encouragement. His recent improvement has brought relief not only to his family but also to Bangladesh’s music industry. Doctors have reportedly said that if his recovery continues at the current pace, he could soon regain full health and return to the recording studio.
Ibrar Tipu has been an active figure in Bangladesh’s professional music industry for three decades. He has worked across advertising jingles, television dramas, films and audio albums, leaving his mark on numerous popular songs. According to Bindu Kona, Tipu hopes to recover fully and return to music as soon as possible.
