Teenager Floyd Samba scored twice on his Manchester City debut as the holders beat Norwich City 5-0 in the Carabao Cup third round on Friday.
The 17-year-old opened the scoring at the Etihad Stadium in the 29th minute. He headed home after Allan Elias sent the ball into the box.
Rayan Cherki doubled City’s lead just three minutes later. He received a pass from Ayyoub Bouaddi before firing a low shot past Norwich goalkeeper Daniel Grimshaw.
City made it 3-0 soon after the break. Allan marked his own debut with a goal in the 48th minute.
Samba then scored his second in the 54th minute. Rayan Ait-Nouri found the teenager inside the box before Samba curled his effort into the net.
Norwich thought they had scored through Mohamed Toure in the 75th minute, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Substitute Ryan McAidoo completed the 5-0 win in added time.
City coach Enzo Maresca made 10 changes from the side that beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.
The win was City’s sixth in a row in all competitions.
City will host Brighton and Hove Albion in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup next month.
