Popular actress Tanjin Tisha has said she does not feel safe in Bangladesh, pointing to security concerns in different parts of the country and the challenges women face in their daily lives.
Speaking to reporters at an event, Tisha said people often find themselves dealing with situations they do not deserve and that justice is not always available to them.
“To be honest, I do not feel safe in Bangladesh. There are security shortcomings in many parts of the country. We often find ourselves in trouble that we do not deserve. In many cases, things seem unjust, and we do not get justice,” she said.
The actress also said she does not consider it safe to move around Bangladesh wearing gold jewellery.
Tisha stressed that women’s safety needs greater attention. She called for stronger security measures to protect women in different situations.
“Our women’s safety should be given greater importance. Women’s security needs to be strengthened in every situation,” she said.
Tisha has been a familiar face on television for years and is now preparing to make her big-screen debut. She is awaiting the release of Soldier, in which she stars opposite Shakib Khan.
