Huawei received the Technology Award at the sixth bKash Partner Excellence Awards in Dhaka on 23 July, recognising its contribution as a technology and supply-chain partner supporting bKash’s digital financial services for more than 84 million users nationwide.
The annual programme, organised by bKash’s Supply Chain Management Department, honoured 17 organisations across eight categories for helping make mobile financial services more accessible and seamless, Huawei said in a press release. Senior executives from both companies attended the ceremony.
Huawei was recognised for its role as a core technology provider within the bKash ecosystem, supplying hardware and software infrastructure that supports the mobile financial services provider’s nationwide operations.
Moinuddin Mohammed Rahgir, Chief Financial Officer of bKash, and Mohammad Rashedul Alam, Executive Vice-President of Supply Chain Management, commended Huawei’s compliance standards, integrity and collaborative approach.
“Partners like Huawei have been instrumental in maintaining strict compliance, high integrity and proactive collaboration—qualities that directly translate into a better experience for our millions of users,” Alam said.
Du Congcong, Account Director of Huawei Bangladesh, said the award recognised the company’s long-term commitment to Bangladesh’s digital development.
“Together with bKash, we will continue building the infrastructure that empowers millions of people with access to modern financial services,” he said.
Huawei and bKash have worked together for nearly a decade to build, expand and strengthen Bangladesh’s digital financial ecosystem. Huawei has supplied secure and reliable infrastructure to support bKash’s rapid nationwide expansion.
The company’s hardware and software support bKash’s core financial technology wallet, or eWallet, which handles daily services including cash-in, cash-out, peer-to-peer transfers and utility bill payments for more than 82 million registered users.
Huawei said the award also reflected its wider push to support inclusive digital economies across South and Southeast Asia. Its digital financial platforms serve about 410 million users across more than 60 markets in Asia and Africa.
