Bangladesh Army’s Muhtasin Ahmed Hridoy and Khai Khai Marma emerged champions in the men’s and women’s singles events respectively at the Federation Cup Table Tennis Tournament, held at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in Paltan on Monday.

In the men’s final, Hridoy dominated Ramhim Lian Bom, winning comfortably in straight sets 3-0 to claim the title. His victory showcased sharp reflexes and commanding control throughout the match.

In the women’s singles final, Khai Khai Marma battled past former champion Sonam Sultana Soma in a thrilling five-set contest, eventually winning 3-2. Earlier, Khai Khai had stunned national champion Mou in the semi-final, a result that she said gave her strong motivation going into the final.

“I was confident about my game plan and believed I could win,” said Khai Khai after securing the title, smiling as she reflected on her performance.

Both Hridoy and Khai Khai are now turning their attention to the Islamic Solidarity Games, which begin on 5 November, viewing this tournament as key preparation for the international stage.

“Our main target is to perform well at the Islamic Solidarity Games,” said Hridoy. “This result gives us confidence. We will give our best to win a medal for Bangladesh.”

In the team events, Bangladesh Army continued their dominance by winning the men’s singles, men’s team, and women’s singles titles, while Bangladesh Ansar lifted the women’s team championship.

The tournament highlighted the continued rise of Bangladesh’s military teams in domestic table tennis, with strong performances setting a confident tone for their upcoming international campaign.
