Hamza Choudhury has arrived in Dhaka to join the Bangladesh national football team ahead of their Asian Cup qualifying match against Hong Kong on 9 October. The midfielder landed at around 11.30 am and is set to feature in his fourth match for the national side.

Choudhury made his debut for Bangladesh earlier this year on 25 March, in a match against India in Shillong. Since then, he has made three appearances, scoring one goal and assisting another. The Leicester City academy product is expected to be a key figure in the upcoming fixtures.

He will have three training sessions with the squad before the home fixture at the Dhaka National Stadium. Another foreign-based player, Shamit Shome of Canadian Premier League side Cavalry FC, is due to arrive tomorrow night and will get only one session with the team ahead of the match.

After the home game, Bangladesh will travel to Hong Kong for the return leg on 14 October.

Head coach Javier Cabrera faces injury concerns in his squad. Forward Suman Reza and winger Mohammad Ibrahim have already withdrawn from the camp due to injuries. Defender Topu Barman, Tariq Kazi and forward Al-Amin are also nursing knocks, although none of the injuries are thought to be serious.

Bangladesh currently sit third in their qualifying group with one point from two matches. Hong Kong are second with four points, while Singapore lead the group on goal difference. India are bottom of the table, also with one point but no goals scored.
