A flight carrying the body of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, who died while undergoing treatment in Singapore, has arrived in Dhaka.

The Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-585 carrying Hadi’s remains departed from Changi International Airport at 2:03pm Bangladesh time on Friday. Sources at the Biman Bangladesh Airlines confirmed the matter to media.

A senior official of the airlines stated that flight BG-585 was scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 5:50pm. The flight landed at 5:49pm.

Osman Hadi’s body will be taken to Dhaka University Central Mosque from the airport.

Meanwhile, a post on Inqilab Mancha’s Facebook page stated that after the plane carrying martyr Osman Hadi lands in Dhaka, his body will be taken to the Dhaka University Central Mosque.

The organisation further stated, “To receive our July generation’s icon, the fearless hero who protected independence and sovereignty, we will all take our positions in an orderly manner on both sides of the road from the airport to Shahbagh.”

On 12 December, Hadi was shot from a moving motorcycle while visiting the capital’s Bijoynagar area for public outreach. The bullet hit his head. After undergoing surgery at Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition, he was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.

He was later taken to Singapore by air ambulance for advanced treatment. In Singapore, Hadi breathed his last on Thursday night while undergoing treatment.
