The High Court has rejected the bail petition of the wife of Faisal Karim Masud, the prime accused in the murder case of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
A High Court bench comprising Justice Md Khairul Alam and Justice AKM Rabiul Hasan passed the order after accused Faisal’s wife, Saheda Parveen Shamim, submitted the petition.
Lawyer Kaniz Fatema appeared for the petitioner, while Deputy Attorney General Md Masudul Alam Doha and Assistant Attorney General Hosne Mobarak represented the state.
On 12 December last year, Hadi was shot by assailants during election campaigning in Bijoynagar, Dhaka. He was later taken to Singapore for advanced treatment, where he died while undergoing care.
Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Moncho, filed the case on 14 December. The FIR named banned BCL leader Faisal alias Daud Khan and unidentified persons as accused.
On the same day, RAB arrested Faisal’s wife, brother‑in‑law, and a female friend in connection with the case.
