The government will soon publish the investigation report on the recent fire at the Cargo Village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin said on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the Sixth National Women’s Baseball Championship 2025 at Riya Gope Women’s Sports Complex ground in Dhanmondi, Sheikh Bashir Uddin said the probe into the incident is ongoing.
“An eight-member expert team from Turkey assisted in the investigation. They have returned home today. We expect to receive their report within the next two to three days,” he said.
He emphasised, “Their report is not the final one; our report will be the main document. The government will release the investigation report shortly.”
Responding to another query, Sheikh Bashir Uddin added that import clearance is currently being carried out through alternative channels and normal operations are expected to resume very soon.
The fire broke out around 2:15 pm on 18 October at the cargo village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. It was brought under control after nearly seven hours and fully extinguished 27 hours later.
