The local government minister said that the government is ready to listen to constructive criticism. He also called upon all concerned to play a responsible role in maintaining a democratic environment and stability.

Moyeen Khan stressed that officials and employees at all levels of the government are servants of the people. He noted that everyone’s goal should be the welfare of the country’s people and establishing Bangladesh as a developed and respectable nation in the world.

He further called upon officials to continue serving the public with dedication despite limited resources.

Speaking as the special guest at the meeting, Minister of State for Local Government Mir Shahe Alam said that the activities of the Department of Public Health Engineering must not depend solely on development projects, but should be conducted based on the needs of people at the field level.

He laid emphasis on strengthening the maintenance of existing infrastructure, converting waste into resources, and reducing groundwater usage through long-term planning.

Shahe Alam added that a separate fund and necessary allocations are required for regular maintenance work of the DPHE at the field level.

Simultaneously, he highlighted the necessity of taking initiatives to generate energy from waste in large cities and low-cost waste management in small municipalities and upazilas.
