Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam has announced a 50 per cent discount on airfares for July warriors and the members of martyr families.
She made the announcement on Tuesday evening during a reception and discussion programme organised by the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation to honour the July warriors.
In commemoration of “36 July,” it was further declared that July warriors and martyr families would receive a 36 per cent discount at all hotels and motels operated by the Parjatan Corporation.
Attending the event, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat said comparing the freedom fighters of 1971 with the July warriors of 2024 is not logical.
He added that while the 1971 fighters liberated the country, the 2024 warriors have protected the nation’s sovereignty. The July warriors were officially honoured and presented with awards during the ceremony.
