Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a significant hike in gold prices, with the price of 22-carat gold rising by Tk6,590 per bhori.
As per the new pricing, one bhori of 22-carat gold is now set at Tk252,409.
The decision was confirmed in a press release issued by BAJUS on Wednesday (8 April) morning.
The revised rates came into effect from 10:00am the same day, the release said.
The statement from BAJUS said that the increase in the price of refined gold (pure gold) in the local market prompted the adjustment. Taking all factors into account, the association has revised the gold prices accordingly.
