Gazipur AgriculturalUniversity (GAU) has distributed surgical and obstetrical kit boxes to 59 fourth-year students of its Doctor of Veterinary Medicine programme to strengthen practical training.
The distribution took place on Tuesday at the university’s Old Auditorium in Gazipur, according to a press release.
The initiative, organised by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science with support from Navana Pharmaceuticals Limited, included students from the 12th batch, including two international students.
Gazipur Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Professor GKM Mustafizur Rahman attended as chief guest, while Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science Dean Professor Md Taimur Islam chaired the session.
Gazipur Agricultural University Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor M Moynul Haque and Treasurer Professor Md Safiul Islam Afrad joined as special guests.
Navana Pharmaceuticals Limited Veterinary Division Regional Entrepreneur Md Masudur Rahman represented the company.
Other attendees included Gazipur Agricultural University Registrar Md Abdullah Mridha, faculty members, university officials, and the recipient students.
The programme opened with a welcome address by Gazipur Agricultural University Professor A N M Aminoor Rahman.
Students Anirban Mandal and Mst Saraban Tahura said the initiative would support their practical learning.
Vice-Chancellor Professor GKM Mustafizur Rahman later handed over the kits to the students.
Veterinary practice is often more demanding than human medicine, highlighting the global importance of veterinarians, said Navana Pharmaceuticals Limited Veterinary Division Regional Entrepreneur Md Masudur Rahman, adding that the company will continue supporting students.
Receiving the kits marks another step towards becoming skilled and compassionate veterinarians, said Gazipur Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Professor GKM Mustafizur Rahman, adding that hands-on training will strengthen contributions to livestock development and animal welfare.
The university will continue creating opportunities to meet global standards, including international internships, he added.
The programme concluded with a technical session led by Navana Pharmaceuticals Limited Veterinary Division Brand Executive Md Toufik Mahmud Pavel on the use and application of the kits.
