Artificial Intelligence is moving faster than imagination itself. At the centre of Google’s latest breakthrough stands Gemini, the company’s most advanced generative AI platform. The app has recently been upgraded with powerful new features. The project is being led by Bangladeshi engineer Zaheed Sabur, who serves as Google’s Senior Director and the Engineering Lead for the Gemini mobile app.
Gemini is not just another chatbot. In its latest version, it has taken a big step into multimodal creativity. The app can now transform simple images and text descriptions into realistic 3D designs, lifelike edits, and imaginative visualisations. A recent demonstration shared by Sabur showed just how far the technology has come. A single photograph was converted into a 3D model on screen and then reimagined into a near-real physical design. All of this was done within minutes.
“Developing such technology so quickly is already a huge achievement, and we have now made this incredible image-editing model available for everyone to use for free in the Gemini app”, Zaheed Sabur wrote on Facebook while sharing the demonstration.
This is not the first time Google has changed the boundaries of human–AI interaction. Earlier versions of Gemini, then called Bard, focused on text-based reasoning and assistance. Now the platform brings vision, design, and problem-solving into a single ecosystem. It is already showing potential in education, architecture, digital art, and journalism.
Zaheed Sabur’s role in this journey has been both technical and visionary. He led the engineering of Google Assistant Smart Displays and is now guiding Gemini’s development. Over the years he has worked on projects that redefine how people interact with machines. But for him, the story is not only about invention. It is about making tools that ordinary people can use to express creativity and solve problems.
As Gemini continues to roll out globally through the Play Store and App Store, the launch represents far more than just another Google release. The rapid progress highlights how far artificial intelligence has come in recent years.
