Formal charges have been filed against Bangladesh Workers Party president and former minister Rashed Khan Menon, and former minister Qamrul Islam, over alleged crimes against humanity during the July–August mass uprising.
Prosecutors submitted the charges to International Crimes Tribunal on Tuesday morning, said Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim.
Menon and Qamrul have been made accused of involvement in two killings during the 2024 uprising. Both have been in prison since their arrests following the fall of Awami League government on 5 August 2024.
