Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) vice-president Faruque Ahmed has been admitted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of United Hospital in Dhaka after falling ill during a day-long cricket conference on 9 November.
The former national captain, who was attending the BCB-organised event at a five-star hotel in the capital, was rushed to hospital when he suddenly became unwell. Doctors later found a blockage in his heart and inserted a stent in the evening.
Faruque’s condition has since improved and he is now out of danger. If his recovery continues, he is expected to be moved to a cabin on 10 November.
Faruque rejoined the BCB board after being elected as a director in the most recent elections.
