Eastern University (EU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Samarkand State Architecture and Construction University of Uzbekistan to foster academic collaboration.
The agreement was signed by Professor Farid A Sobhani, vice chancellor of Eastern University, and Ferhan Kara, adviser to the rector of Samarkand State University, at EU’s campus.
The MoU establishes a framework for joint supervision of master’s and PhD programs, faculty and student exchanges, internships, collaborative research, and joint seminars. It also includes sharing academic resources, offering scholarships to meritorious students, and developing joint certificate courses.
Professor Sobhani expressed optimism that the partnership will provide Eastern University students with greater opportunities for higher studies, research, and international careers.
The signing ceremony was attended by EU’s treasurer, registrar, deans, chairpersons, and section heads; and joined online by Prof Çiğdem Canbay Türkyılmaz, rector, and Prof Emrah Türkyılmaz from Turkey.
