Eight more people have died across the country from measles and related symptoms in the last 24 hours.
The information was released on Wednesday in a press release sent from the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the DGHS, out of the deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, seven individuals died from suspected measles, while one death was a confirmed case of the disease.
Cumulative data provided by the health authorities shows that from 15 March to 13 May, the total death toll has reached 432.
This includes 363 deaths from suspected measles and 69 deaths from confirmed cases.
Regarding the number of infections, 1,489 suspected measles patients were identified in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of suspected cases since 15 March to 53,056.
During the same 24-hour period, 126 cases were laboratory-confirmed, raising the total number of confirmed measles cases to 7,150 since mid-March.
The press release further noted that 38,054 patients with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals between 15 March and 13 May. During this period, 33,832 individuals were discharged from hospitals after recovery
