Bangladesh received $7.351 billion in workers’ remittances during the first two and a half months of the current fiscal year, marking a 15.3 per cent year-on-year increase compared with $6.375 billion received during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
According to the latest Bangladesh Bank data, remittance inflow during 1 July to 14 September, 2026, stood at $7.351 billion, up by $976 million from $6.375 billion recorded during the same period of FY2025-26, reports BSS.
The country received $1.526 billion in remittances during September 1 to 14, 2026, compared with $1.475 billion during the corresponding period last year, registering a 3.4 per cent year-on-year increase.
On September 14 alone, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $98 million in remittances through official channels.
