EDOTCO Bangladesh has announced the appointment of Al Batuni Mohammad Sayed Ahmed as its new Country Managing Director, effective from last Tuesday.
The move is intended to strengthen the company’s commitment to local leadership and digital infrastructure growth as the nation continues its digital transformation, reads a press release.
Al Batuni brings over 20 years of expertise in telecommunications and digital services to the role. He previously served as the Director of Strategy and Transformation at EDOTCO Bangladesh, where he was responsible for driving operational excellence and long-term growth.
His professional background includes nearly 17 years at Ericsson in senior leadership positions, with a specific focus on network transformation and digital modernisation.
He succeeds Sunil Issac, under whose tenure EDOTCO Bangladesh significantly expanded its market presence and nationwide infrastructure footprint.
Currently, the organisation manages nearly 17,000 towers and supports over 28,000 tenancies, playing a critical role in advancing connectivity across Bangladesh.
EDOTCO Group Chief Executive Officer Adlan Tajudin said Bangladesh remains one of the group’s most important markets and a key contributor to its long-term growth ambitions.
He said Al Batuni’s strategic vision and industry knowledge align with the company’s next phase of growth as a trusted digital infrastructure partner through innovation, sustainability, and infrastructure sharing.
