The Election Commission (EC) has sent letters to Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar to record the announcement of the schedule for the 13th national election and referendum on 10 December.
Election Commission’s Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed disclosed the information on Monday.
About the recording, he said that the chief election commissioner will deliver a speech on the election schedule and it will be recorded on 10 December. For this purpose, letters have been sent to BTV and Betar on behalf of the EC, he added.
The EC is making the utmost effort to ensure that voting in the election is free, fair, and impartial. In his speech, the CEC will call upon citizens to cast their votes and urge candidates to cooperate in completing the election properly.
However, during the 12th national election, the speech to the nation was not recorded. The then CEC Kazi Habibul Awal directly broadcast the schedule announcement on BTV and Betar. This time, the EC will record the schedule, the secretary informed.
