Police recovered the hanging body of a teacher from Rohingya Camp 17 in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar, early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Kabula Begum, 20. She worked as a madrasa teacher and also privately tutored children.
Commander (Additional DIG) Mohammad Siraj Amin of the 14 Armed Police Battalion (APBn) confirmed the matter on Wednesday night.
Locals found her body hanging in a neighbour’s room around 4am on Tuesday.
Police recovered the body and prepared an inquest report before sending it to Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital for an autopsy with assistance from the local police station.
The cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy report.
A general diary (GD) was filed at the Irani Pahar Police Camp over the incident.
