The Election Commission (EC) has released the draft voter list ahead of the national election, with the final list scheduled for publication on 18 November after processing claims and objections.

While no new names will be added, voters are allowed to change their voting area by updating their residential address.

Applications for such transfers must be submitted by 10 November, and registration officers have been instructed to approve or reject them by 17 November.

The directive was communicated through a letter signed by EC Senior Assistant Secretary Md Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, sent to all upazila and thana election officers on Tuesday.

Copies were also circulated to field-level officials and the EC Secretariat. Voters seeking to transfer their voting area must fill out Form 13 and submit it to the relevant upazila or thana election office.

In a related instruction for overseas Bangladeshis, the EC has directed that voter registration applications be processed by Thursday. The letter, signed by Khan Abi Shahanur Khan, director (Registration and Expatriates) of the Election Commission’s NID Wing, was sent to all regional, district, and upazila election officers.

The notice states that registration for overseas Bangladeshi voters is ongoing. Applicants who have completed the biometric process can access their applications via the NRB menu on the CMS portal.

Upazila, thana, and registration officers are required to print the submitted forms and supporting documents and conduct field verification.

All overseas applications submitted by 31 October must be fully investigated by 6 November. Applications submitted on or after 1 September without attached documents should be recorded as “No documents attached,” and verification must be completed once the documents are provided.

After completing the investigations, regional election officers are required to submit the reports to the Director General of Election Commission’s NID Wing following the prescribed format.
