The 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum brought a vibrant and festive atmosphere to various polling centres across the capital from the early hours of the morning.
Long before voting officially began, supporters and party workers gathered in small groups around the centres, preparing to assist voters and maintain order.
In areas like Ramapura and Khilgaon, voter turnout began rising well before polling stations officially opened.
Although no significant queues were observed at centers until around 6:30am, party supporters, both male and female, were already seen assembling to ensure a smooth voting process.
A polling agent stationed outside Ramapura High School, shared, “I was asked to arrive by 6am. Although voters haven’t shown up yet, I expect a surge by 7am .”
Voter Mohammad Ziaur Rahman from Khilgaon Talatola also noted the presence of supporters near the polling stations but emphasized that they were maintaining discipline.
“The law enforcement agencies are alert, and the overall atmosphere is calm,” he added.
Security around the polling centres remained tight, with police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and military personnel patrolling the main and the area to ensure safety.
Authorities confirmed that comprehensive security measures had been implemented to allow voters to cast their ballots without disruption.
With heightened vigilance by law enforcement, the election day unfolded peacefully, with citizens turning out in good numbers despite the early hour.
