Dhaka University (DU) Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor ABM Obaidul Islam on Monday, 6 July 2026, paid tribute at the foot of the Aparajeyo Bangla sculpture to the coffin of late Professor Abul Kasem Fazlul Haq of the Department of Bengali in Dhaka, according to a press release.
The tribute was paid at the university campus in the capital at around midday on Monday, with Vice Chancellor ABM Obaidul Islam attending the ceremony in honour of the late academic, said Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Director of the Public Relations Office of the University of Dhaka, in a press release.
The release stated that the event took place at Aparajeyo Bangla and involved the coffin of Abul Kasem Fazlul Haq, a former professor of the Department of Bengali at the University of Dhaka.
