The Dhaka University authorities have decided to keep all entry points closed as Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi will be laid to rest beside the grave of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.

In view of the expected large gathering, DU authorities made the decision, according to a notice issued on Saturday.

Earlier in the morning, Hadi’s body was taken from the morgue of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for autopsy. After the autopsy, the body was brought back to the institute for the final rituals.

Hadi was critically injured in a shooting by assailants on 12 February. He was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he underwent surgery, and was later shifted to Evercare Hospital for advanced treatment. On 15 December, he was flown to Singapore by air ambulance. He died while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital around 9:30pm on Thursday.

His body arrived in the country around 6pm on Friday and was later taken from the airport to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases.
