BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called upon party leaders and workers not to be confused by the incorrect statements published in the media.
He said, “A remark of mine has been misinterpreted and presented in various media outlets, which is extremely regrettable.”
He stated this in a press release sent to the media on Tuesday night. In the statement signed by BNP’s Assistant Office Secretary Advocate Md Taiful Islam Tipu, Mirza Fakhrul said, “A remark I made at an exchange meeting held on the afternoon of November 11 at the Mohammadpur Shapla Government Primary School field in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila has been misinterpreted and presented in various media outlets, which is extremely regrettable.”
He added, “In my remarks, I stated that we do not want to engage in politics of revenge. We do not want to file harassing cases like the Awami League does. I further stated in my remarks that if there are any harassing cases in this union, we will withdraw them. However, I did not make any statement regarding the filing or withdrawal of harassing cases nationwide.”
The BNP leader called upon the people of the country and party leaders and workers at all levels not to be confused by the incorrect statements published in the media.
