Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 4,500 cases against traffic law violation during drives conducted across various areas of Dhaka on Thursday and Friday.

DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the matter in a press release.

In the Traffic-Motijheel Division, a total of 480 cases were filed, which included 31 buses, two trucks, 24 covered vans, 89 CNGs, and 285 motorcycles.

In the Traffic-Wari Division, a total of 1,397 cases were filed, comprising 129 buses, 155 trucks, 145 covered vans, 174 CNGs, and 558 motorcycles.

The total number of cases in the Traffic-Tejgaon Division was 289, in Traffic-Mirpur Division 1,305, in Traffic-Gulshan Division 351, in Traffic-Ramna Division 198, and in Traffic-Lalbagh Division 247.

Furthermore, during the operations, a total of 665 vehicles were impounded and 213 vehicles were towed away.

DMP has stated that its drives to maintain traffic discipline in the Dhaka will continue.
