Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 1,561 cases against traffic law violators during operations across the capital on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations confirmed, Muhammad Talebur Rahman PPM in a press release, the traffic units conducted raids in all major areas of the city.
The Traffic-Ramna unit registered 128 cases, including five buses, one truck, six covered vans, 11 CNGs, and 47 motorcycles.
Traffic-Lalbagh filed 151 cases, covering 19 buses, one truck, nine CNGs, and 106 motorcycles.
Traffic-Motijheel recorded 177 cases, including nine buses, four trucks, 15 covered vans, 62 CNGs, and 169 motorcycles.
Traffic-Wari unit registered 138 cases with 10 buses, nine trucks, six covered vans, four CNGs, and 86 motorcycles.
In other areas, Traffic-Tejgaon filed 173 cases, Traffic-Mirpur 300 cases, Traffic-Uttara 228 cases, and Traffic-Gulshan 158 cases.
Vehicles involved included buses, trucks, covered vans, CNGs, and motorcycles.
The operation also led to 523 vehicles being impounded and 213 towed for traffic violations.
DMP traffic sources confirmed that operations to enforce traffic discipline in Dhaka will continue regularly.
