Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic Division filed 1,357 cases against traffic law violators in different areas of the capital during a drive.
DMP conducted the operation across the capital on Saturday.
According to DMP Traffic Division sources, the Ramna division filed 70 cases, including against eight buses, two covered vans, six CNGs and 27 motorcycles. The Lalbagh division filed 122 cases, including against 11 buses, one truck, two covered vans, eight CNGs and 76 motorcycles.
The Motijheel division filed 150 cases, including against seven buses, two trucks, four covered vans, 53 CNGs and 65 motorcycles.
The Wari division filed 178 cases, including against 29 buses, 14 trucks, 14 covered vans, 23 CNGs and 50 motorcycles.
In Tejgaon division, police filed 104 cases, including against three buses, three covered vans, 13 CNGs and 60 motorcycles.
The Mirpur division recorded the highest number with 445 cases, including against 19 buses, seven trucks, eight covered vans, 65 CNGs and 283 motorcycles.
The Uttara division filed 163 cases, including against nine buses, eight trucks, nine covered vans, 39 CNGs and 45 motorcycles.
The Gulshan division filed 125 cases, including against 13 buses, three covered vans, 19 CNGs and 45 motorcycles.
During the drive, police also dumped 358 vehicles and towed 148 others.
The drive to maintain traffic discipline in Dhaka metropolitan area will continue, officials said.
