Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested 57 people across the capital in the last 24 hours as part of Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2.
The raids were carried out by Lalbagh, Sutrapur, Mirpur, Mohammadpur, Tejgaon, Pallabi, Khilgaon, Hazaribagh, Jatrabari, Gendaria, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Uttarkhan, Shahbagh and Wari police stations.
According to official data, Mohammadpur Thana recorded the highest number of arrests with 18 detainees, followed by Shahbagh with 15. Gendaria arrested six people, Jatrabari four and Hazaribagh three, while Sutrapur and Pallabi arrested two each. One person each was detained by Lalbagh, Mirpur, Tejgaon, Khilgaon, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Uttarkhan and Wari.
Police identified the arrested individuals as Md Monir Hossain (41), S M Zohirul Islam (50), Md Kamrul Islam (56), Md Saifur Rahman alias Sagor (32), Rakib (21), Rudro (22), Sagor (20), Sakhawat (27), Shukur (45), Bacchu (35), Jobayer Leader Jubayer (23), Mustak Roni (40), Shamim (35), Rana alias Bulu (22), Amjad (22), Tousif (22), Shahin alias Rajib (30), Monir (26), Faisal (35), Almas (20), Jewel (32), Taslima (21), Fatema alias Phote (28), Md Limon (25), Hema Akter (20), Md Azizul (30), Md Mintu (45), Md Wasim (50), Md Imran Hossain (32), Md Imon (19), Joy Chandra Sarkar (14), Md Faridul Islam Joy (26), Md Shukur Ali alias Imon (25), Md Rabbi Ullah (26), Omar Faruq, Md Zahidul Zahid (38), Fatema Akter alias Prema (22), Md Joni (35), Md Sojib (25), Nur Shahin (65), Md Ekramul Islam Shiplu (40), Imran Sheikh (24), Rajib Devnath (32), Alamin (19), Md Mohidul Islam (28), Md Roman Mia (27), Md Jihad Islam (19), Md Shahabuddin (52), Md Sentu (44), Nur Islam (45), Md Hossain (23), Md Sobuj (25), Rifat Hossain (19), Jamal Uddin (35), Md Tareq (24), Md Akter Hossain (30) and Mahmud Hasan alias Mahin (28).
The DMP said all those arrested have been produced before the court.
