Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 466 people in the past 24 hours during regular drives across the capital, with 57 cases filed during the period.
The DMP disclosed the information in a statement issued on Thursday.
Among those arrested, 30 were from Ramna Division, 28 from Lalbagh, 59 from Wari, 74 from Motijheel, 53 from Tejgaon, 115 from Mirpur, 43 from Gulshan, 52 from Uttara, 11 from the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit and one from the Detective Branch (DB).
During the drives, police recovered a jeep, a motorcycle, an auto-rickshaw, a water meter, a laptop, two CPUs, a hard disk, a monitor, 21 mobile phones, 135 SIM cards, and 41 seals bearing the names and signatures of high-ranking officials, including the prime minister, ministers and members of parliament.
Police also recovered 320 pages of official letterheads, 1.25kg of cannabis, 6,658 yaba tablets, 70 litres of locally made liquor and 60 buprenorphine injections.
The items and narcotics were recovered during separate operations in different police station areas across the capital.
Legal action against the arrested individuals is underway, the DMP said.
