Dr Md Sabur Khan, Chairman of Daffodil International University (DIU) and Daffodil Group, attended the Silver Jubilee celebration of the Baishakhi Mela and Curry Festival at Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Park in Tokyo on Sunday.
Dr Khan joined the event following an official invitation from the organisers. The international gathering brought together dignitaries, diplomats and expatriate leaders from Bangladesh and Japan to celebrate Bangladeshi cultural heritage and promote bilateral ties.
Among the notable attendees were Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Md Daud Ali and a secretary from Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, alongside other representatives from diplomatic and cultural circles.
Dr Khan’s participation reflects Daffodil Group’s growing global engagement in promoting Bangladesh’s education, culture and innovation. During the event, he interacted with key stakeholders and underscored the importance of education and entrepreneurship in strengthening cross-border collaboration.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Khan said, “Global platforms like this play a vital role in strengthening connections and showcasing Bangladesh’s potential. Daffodil Group remains committed to fostering international collaboration and cultural exchange.”
Organised by the Japan Bangladesh Society, the Baishakhi Mela and Curry Festival is one of the largest Bangladeshi cultural events in Japan. This year’s Silver Jubilee marked 25 years of cultural exchange and community engagement.
The participation is expected to further strengthen academic, cultural and institutional cooperation between Bangladesh and Japan.
