Popular actress Deepa Khandakar will appear as the guest on the latest episode of the entertainment programme Star Stories, where she discusses her 28-year acting career, changing screen roles, recent projects and aspects of her personal life.
Hosted by Pantha Afzal, the episode looks at how Khandakar’s career has evolved over the years. She once regularly played lead female characters, but her roles have gradually changed with age and experience.
She now frequently appears as mothers, sisters-in-law, sisters, aunts and other family figures.
Her recent performance as an aunt in the series Eta Amader Golpo has earned particular attention. Khandakar said she never expected the character to become so popular. She added that people now sometimes call her “Fufu” on the streets instead of addressing her by name.
The actress believes changing screen roles is a natural part of growing older.
“In real life, whatever stage I am at, I should present that age and character on screen,” she said.
Khandakar also discussed the recent popularity of 1980s and 1990s-inspired looks. She revealed that she will soon share a photograph featuring an 1980s-inspired appearance.
Despite her long career, Khandakar remains busy with new projects. She will play Rukaiya in Muhammad Mostofa Kamal Raj’s Fire Asar Golpo. She is also working on Bakulpur, Family Express and Karmofol, among other productions.
