The Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Detective Branch (DB) has arrested 25 more leaders and activists of Awami League (whose activities are banned) and its affiliated organisations for their alleged involvement in planning acts of sabotage, conducting flash processions, and carrying out crude bomb explosions in the capital.
Over the past 24 hours, DB teams from Motijheel, Gulshan, Lalbagh, Tejgaon, Ramna, Wari, and Mirpur carried out operations at various locations across Dhaka, resulting in the arrests.
According to DB sources, the arrests were made based on evidence of their involvement in planning, financing, coordinating and actively participating in flash processions and crude bomb attacks aimed at destabilising the capital.
Legal proceedings against the detainees are underway.
