Robert Kelker-Kelly, a familiar face on American daytime television, has died at 62 after a career spanning more than three decades and hundreds of soap opera episodes, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor died on Saturday at his home in Missouri after reportedly experiencing chest pain. Police found him unconscious and not breathing and attempted life-saving measures, but could not revive him. The cause of death was not immediately known.
Kelker-Kelly began his television career in 1987 with ‘Another World’, where he appeared in more than 400 episodes across two stints. He later became widely known as Bo Brady on ‘Days of Our Lives’, playing the character from 1992 to 1995.
He also portrayed villain Stavros Cassadine on ‘Port Charles’ and ‘General Hospital’, returning to ‘General Hospital’ in 2013 for his final screen role.
A Soap Opera Digest Award winner, Kelker-Kelly also worked as a professional pilot. His other credits included ‘Touched by an Angel’ and ‘Rescue 77’.
