The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has rejected a proposal by Daffodil Computers PLC to convert a Tk49.03 crore loan from its sister concern Creative International into equity shares.

The listed IT company said in a disclosure published on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Monday that BSEC on 21 May declined to approve the issuance of 3,26,90,000 ordinary shares of Daffodil Computers at Tk15 each to convert the loan into equity.

Earlier, Daffodil Computers’ board approved the plan on 10 November 2025, subject to regulatory approval alongside shareholders’ nod in an extraordinary general meeting.

Daffodil Computers shares closed 4.24 per cent higher at Tk142.5 apiece on the DSE on Monday.
