Chattogram University (CU) has imposed restrictions on the entry of motorcycles and other non-authorised vehicles into the campus from 8pm on Sunday, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
University Proctor Prof Hossain Shahid Sarwardy confirmed the decision at around 3pm on Sunday, saying the measure had been taken to ensure security during the final.
He said no motorcycles, cars or other vehicles without prior approval from the university authorities would be allowed to enter the campus after 8pm.
People wishing to enter the campus to watch the match will have to do so on foot, he added.
The proctor advised students, journalists and other authorised stakeholders who need to bring motorcycles onto the campus to do so before the restriction takes effect.
He also said students entering the campus in emergency situations would be required to show their university identity cards.
According to the university authorities, access to the campus will be subject to stricter controls after 11pm.
