The icy northern winds in Panchagarh have begun to signal the bite of early winter. Although daytime remains bright and relatively warm, the temperature drops sharply after sundown, bringing a noticeable winter chill.
According to the Met Office, there is a possibility of a cold wave at the beginning of December.
Around 9am on Wednesday, the country’s lowest temperature was recorded in Tetulia at 12.9 degrees Celsius. Earlier, at 6am, it was 13 degrees Celsius, with humidity at 97 percent.
For the past ten days, this Himalayan foothill region has seen daytime temperatures fluctuate between 29 and 30 degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperatures hovered between 14 and 16 degrees.
On 25 November, Tetulia recorded a minimum of 12.8 degrees Celsius, one of the lowest temperatures of the season. The day before, on 24 November, the temperature was recorded at 13.4 degrees Celsius. The persistent temperature variation has intensified the feeling of winter among residents.
