China has congratulated Hafiz Uddin Ahmed on his inauguration as Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad and reaffirmed Beijing’s willingness to deepen parliamentary exchanges with Bangladesh.
The message was conveyed by Chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress Zhao Leji in a congratulatory letter sent on March 12.
In the letter, Zhao extended warm congratulations to Hafiz Uddin Ahmed on assuming the office of Speaker of Bangladesh’s Jatiya Sangsad.
He said China and Bangladesh share a long-standing friendship and have maintained close cooperation across various sectors.
China is ready to work with Bangladesh to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the National People’s Congress and the Jatiya Sangsad, he said.
Zhao also expressed hope that such engagement would help promote the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between China and Bangladesh to a higher level.
